Um emaranhado de escalas de design e a heterogeneidade de modos de opera\u00e7\u00e3o conferem um car\u00e1ter h\u00edbrido \u00e0 AA&amp;U. O valor estrat\u00e9gico do design urbano bem como as dimens\u00f5es sociais e pol\u00edticas da arquitetura e das artes visuais servem de base para suas interven\u00e7\u00f5es e projetos concebidos. A AA&amp;U surgiu das colabora\u00e7\u00f5es de Socrates Stratis com arquitetos e artistas visuais. Os principais membros fundadores s\u00e3o Socrates Stratis, arquiteto, urbanista e professor adjunto do Departamento de Arquitetura da Universidade do Chipre, e a artista visual Maria Loizidou. O trabalho da AA&amp;U j\u00e1 foi apresentado em exposi\u00e7\u00f5es internacionais, como a Bienal de Arquitetura de Veneza em 2004, 2006, 2008 e 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A maioria dos projetos da AA&amp;U tem a ver, em primeiro lugar, com o design de infraestrutura de espa\u00e7os p\u00fablicos e culturais e, em segundo lugar, com estruturas de apoio que s\u00e3o interven\u00e7\u00f5es baseadas em ativismo no dom\u00ednio p\u00fablico. Parte do trabalho da AA&amp;U envolve colabora\u00e7\u00f5es entre comunidades com um car\u00e1ter de base. Ao comentar criticamente sobre o atual <em>status quo<\/em> da divis\u00e3o do Chipre, tal trabalho gera imagin\u00e1rios urbanos comuns.
