The studies should be composed of texts (whether essays, articles, reviews, poems, or chronicles) of between 1,500-6,000 words each (including references and footnotes). Each text should be accompanied by a selection of images and/or videos, photographs or audio experiences or soundtracks. Studies may be submitted individually or as a collective.

Papers
Articles must be original and comprised of critical reflections (whether ethical, aesthetic, and/or socio-cultural) on the contemporary interfaces between art and society. The texts can be between 5,000 and 8,500 words (including references, footnotes, attachments, or appendices). Also articles must be accompanied by a selection of images and/or videos. We accept articles in English or Portuguese. Other languages will be accepted as long as they are accompanied by a translation in English or Portuguese.

Photo Essays
The photographic essays should comprise a selection of approximately 15-25 images together with a 300-500 word critical introduction. The series of original photos should explore a unique perspective or artistic vision reflecting on the contemporary interfaces between art and society.

Video Interviews
Edited video interviews should be between 15 and 20 minutes in length (and can be divided into individual parts). The interview should explore the creative and critical world of a particular artist, researcher, activist, curator, educator, or philosopher and offer a unique and innovative contribution to reflect on aesthetic and ethical practices and dilemmas in contemporary culture. We expect each edited video interview to consist of, not only the interview itself, but also images, original artwork, photographs, music and/or other elements that help to contextualize the reflections of each interviewee.

Conditions for Submission

Before sending materials, authors should verify the conditions of submission in relation to the items listed below:

Text Files – files must be in Microsoft Word or .rtf format (not exceeding 2MB); remove author identification from the text and the properties option in Microsoft Word; tables, charts, graphs, and illustrations should be submitted with captions citing the complete reference source.
